What is Erasmus+ and how to apply

Erasmus +

If you would like to study or work abroad, the Erasmus+ programme could be what you are looking for.

Here are some notes to help you understand what Erasmus+ is, how to apply and what you can do with an EU grant.

What is Erasmus+?

The Erasmus+ programme is a European Union programme which supports education, training, sports and youth in all sectors and ages. It will run from 2014 to 2020 and is open to both individuals and organisations.

With funding available for studying, working or training purposes, you have plenty of opportunities to be eligible.

For more information about what is covered by the Erasmus+ programme, you can have a look at the Erasmus+ Programme Guide and/or visit the Erasmus+ UK website.

How much is the Erasmus+ grant?

Living standards differ a lot from one country to another so the amount of the grant will be different depending on which country you are from and which country you are going to. The grant will also take into consideration the reason for your application (work, an internship or study).

How to apply?

As an individual, you will need to apply through an organisation recognised by the Erasmus+ programme.  You can find more information on the application process on the Erasmus+ UK website here.

Language Link can help you with the application process, which will ensure you do not have the stress of dealing with the administration process yourself.

If you are interested in one of our Professional development courses and want to apply for an Erasmus+ grant, please check our Erasmus+ funding guide.
