Payments 

When to make a payment

All fees are payable before the start date of the course.

Bookings made more than 5 working weeks before the start date of the course:

The deposit should be transferred at the time of booking.

The full payment (less deposit) must be received at least 5 working weeks before the first day of your course.

Please remember to quote your booking code number when making any payment.

Please note that no part of your booking is confirmed until the deposit is received in full.

Bookings made less than 5 working weeks before the start date of the course:

If you booked a course that starts in less than 5 working weeks, the full payment must be received at the time of booking.

How to make a payment

Please note that Language Link London is not responsible for any bank charges incurred by international bank transfers.

You may pay by:

  • Bank Transfer in Great Britain Pound sterling (GBP £). Please note that International Bank Transfers may incur a fee.
  • Credit and Debit Cards
  • Online by booking through our website via Stripe

Your total course fees are made up of the following:

  • Course fee
  • Bank transfer fee (if applicable)
  • Accommodation fee (if applicable)
  • Airport transfer fee (if applicable)

Cancellations

Please note that notice deadlines for modifications and cancellations to bookings differ depending on the course – different deadlines apply for some categories of courses.

Please also note that other deadlines will apply if you also have reserved accommodation.

We outsource our accommodation service to Britannia and Hosts International – the main agencies for student lettings in London.

To modify or cancel accommodation bookings with these external service providers, you would need to respect their respective deadlines and these vary depending on the provider, type of accommodation, length of stay, and period of the year.

When mediating a student accommodation service with these external agencies, Language Link is acting in good faith and as the supplier’s agent. We do not accept any responsibility for the acts/defaults of third parties.

Course-only Cancellation Deadlines

Please note that school fees are not transferable to other students (the allocation of a student to a specific course is dependent on a preliminary language placement test and/or interview – see below).

If you wish to cancel, change or postpone a booking that does not include accommodation, we only require:

For all courses except for CELTA, Professional Development for Teachers, Junior courses, and Internships:

a notice of at least 2 working weeks in writing for a full refund (within business hours: 9:00-17:30 – Monday to Friday).

Where less than 2 working weeks’ notice is given, full fees are due and no refund is available.

For CELTA courses: 

a notice of at least 3 working weeks in writing for a full refund (within business hours: 9:00-17:30 – Monday to Friday).

Where less than 3 working weeks’ notice is given, refunding of course fees will be conditional on Language Link managing to fill the space on the course and will be less an administration fee of £220. Please note that in the event of a candidate withdrawing from the course once it has started, Language Link London cannot refund fees or offer a place on a subsequent course without payment of further fees.

For Professional Development for Teachers courses: 

a notice of at least 3 working weeks in writing for a full refund (within business hours: 9:00-17:30 – Monday to Friday), less a booking fee of £50.

Where less than 3 working weeks’ notice is given, full fees are due and no refund is available.

Please read the other specific terms and conditions that apply to the Professional Development courses.

For Junior courses: 

a notice of at least 4 working weeks in writing for a 50% refund (within business hours: 9:00-17:30 – Monday to Friday), less deposit.

Where less than 4 working weeks’ notice is given, full fees are due and no refund is available.

Please read the other specific terms and conditions that apply to the Junior courses.

For Internships

a notice of at least 4 working weeks in writing for an 80% refund (within business hours: 9:00-17:30 – Monday to Friday), less 20% deposit.

Where less than 4 working weeks’ notice is given:

Cancellations received between 4 and 2 working weeks before the start of the internship will incur a cancellation charge of 50% of total booking.

Cancellations received less than 2 working weeks before the start of the internship will not be refunded.

Cancellations and refunds where the Language Link London terminates the contract

The School reserves the right to terminate the booking without refund, where:

  • the students’ acts or omissions are such that it would be unreasonable for them to continue their studies in the School
  • a student is found not to have leave to remain in the UK or breaches the conditions of his/her leave

Force Majeure

Language Link London is not liable in the event of the school being unable to supply services to which it is contractually bound resulting from causes outside the school’s control, such as, but not limited to, natural disasters, labour disputes, government action, pandemics and the like. Refunds will not be made in such circumstances.

Insurance cover

We strongly advise all students to take out travel insurance. School fees are not refundable or transferable so we recommend you take out comprehensive insurance that covers reimbursement of course fees. A good student insurance policy will refund the remaining fees if a student has to go home early for a medical or other serious reason. 


Course Allocation and Delivery

Course Availability

In the event of insufficient applications for a course, the school reserves the right to offer an alternative course of equal value.

Course Hours

Each lesson or study hour consists of 50 minutes of study time.

Student Placement

Every attempt will be made to place the student on the course of her/his choice. However, Language Link London cannot guarantee a particular course and/or timetable until the student has taken an entry language placement test and/or had an interview.

Public Holidays

There are no refunds or discounts for classes missed when a course includes a Public Holiday. Click on the following link for a list of UK public and school holidays

Attendance and students’ holidays

Students are expected to attend lessons regularly and on time. Students are not entitled to refunds if they are late, absent, or leave before the course ends. Students attending courses of 36 or more weeks duration may take a holiday of four weeks without losing their course fee for the period providing at least four weeks’ notice is given.

Special Offers

Course discounts are valid from the date of advertisement. Discounts cannot be applied retrospectively to existing bookings.
