Specific Terms and Conditions for CELTA and Teacher Training Students

The minimum age for students on CELTA and Teacher Training Programmes is 18 years old.

Selection criteria, assessment and grades

Language Link London cannot enter into correspondence or discussion concerning the reasons for an interview or a place on a course not having been offered.

All tutors on the Cambridge ESOL CELTA courses collaborate on the internal assessments and decisions are unanimous.

In all matters relating to selection and assessment the decision of the Director of Studies is final.


Making a payment

If you are accepted for a course, our confirmation letter will inform you whether you need to pay a deposit immediately in order to reserve a place. If this is the case we cannot reserve a place until the deposit has been paid. In all cases course fees should normally be paid at least three weeks before the start of the course. If you have not paid your fees by that date, you may lose your place.

Deposits may be transferred to the same course running at a later date at the discretion of the school and with good notice.

You may pay by:

  • Bank Transfer in £ sterling. Please note that International Bank Transfers and Bankers Draft payments will incur a £15 charge.
  • Credit and Debit Cards
  • Online by booking through our website
  • In cash by coming to the School in person.

Your total course fees are made up of the following:

  • Course fee
  • Accommodation fee (if applicable)
  • Bank transfer fee (if applicable)

Students that cancel their course in accordance with our terms and conditions will be offered a place on a later course or refunded their course fees if they desire. Cancellations must be made 3 weeks before the start of the course in order for Language Link to have sufficient time to fill the space. Cancellations must be made in writing. If a student cancels within 3 weeks of the start of their course, refunding of course fees will be conditional on Language Link managing to fill the space on the course and will be less an administration fee of £220. 

Please note that in the event of a candidate withdrawing from the course once it has started, Language Link London cannot refund fees or offer a place on a subsequent course without payment of further fees.

Language Link London reserves the right to postpone or cancel any course due to insufficient student numbers or due to unforeseen circumstances. In this event the candidate will be given a full refund.

Force Majeure

Language Link London is not liable in the event of the school being unable to supply services to which it is contractually bound resulting from causes outside the school’s control, such as, but not limited to, natural disasters, labour disputes, government action, pandemics and the like. Refunds will not be made in such circumstances.

Insurance cover

School fees are not refundable or transferable so we recommend you take out comprehensive insurance that covers reimbursement of course fees.



Accommodation booking date

  • Accommodation is booked and charged for from Sunday to Sunday or Saturday to Saturday for the duration of your course.
  • In summer it is important to book early to ensure we can find suitable accommodation. A second choice MUST be given in case your first choice is not available.
  • If you wish to extend your room, please advise the Accommodation team at our Dukes road Centre. We will endeavour to arrange an extension but, as there are a limited number of rooms, it may not always be possible. On some occasions extensions may require a change of room.
  • If two students come together a shared room can be booked, otherwise shared room accommodation will be booked in the shared room option.
Smoking in Homestays

Nowadays many people do not smoke and homestay hosts do prefer no smoking within their own. Therefore, there might be fewer options if students wish to smoke in the homestay house. If you are happy to smoke outside in the host’s home, you can indicate this on your enrolment form.

Pets in Homestays

Many British homes have pets such as a cat or a dog. If you prefer not to be accommodated in a home with an animal, please indicate this on the enrolment form and the accommodation team will do their best to accommodate any requirement.

Special requirements

The accommodation team will always try their best to address any special requests with your accommodation application. However, fulfilling them is not always guaranteed but we will let you know. Booking as early as possible gives the accommodation team the greatest chance to accommodation your needs.

Arriving at your Homestay

You are advised to contact your host with your arrival time prior to your arrival and you can do this by telephone, email or letter. This way you can be sure that your host will be ready to welcome you.

Changes and cancellations

If you are unhappy with your homestay accommodation, the school will relocate you to a new host as soon as possible.

Please note: because of death, illness or other unforeseen circumstances it may be necessary to change your accommodation either before you arrive or once you are here and the school reserves the right to do this. We guarantee to provide accommodation for the period you have booked but not necessarily with the same host for the whole period.

When arranging student accommodation Language Link is acting in good faith and as the supplier’s agent. We do not accept any responsibility for the acts/defaults of third parties.

Please note: A good student insurance policy will refund the remaining fees if a student has to go home early for a medical or other serious reason. We strongly advise all students to take out insurance.
